Pipeworks history
Pipeworks was founded in November 1999 by Dan White and Dan Duncalf, two Dynamix veterans. Its first job was core tech for the original Xbox. In 2005 the studio joined Foundation 9 Entertainment, and in 2014 it was bought by Italy's Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games.
Ownership kept changing after that: Northern Pacific Group in 2018, Sumo Group in 2020 (for up to $99.5 million), RuneScape developer Jagex in 2022 and finally Virtuos in January 2025, where Pipeworks is now the group's flagship North American studio.

Notable games
The studio made its name with Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (2002), Godzilla: Save the Earth (2004) and Godzilla: Unleashed (2007). It also worked on Prince of Persia for PSP, Rampage: Total Destruction and Deadliest Warrior, plus ports such as Devil May Cry HD Collection and Terraria.
In 2026 Pipeworks returns to its best-known game with Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, published by Atari.
