SaemTV Scarety blew past every expectation: the streamer hoped to raise around 700 euros for Make-A-Wish Germany, and the donation counter ended at 8,888.88 euros. I talked to Saem about her first charity event, milestones, handmade Orrynox blankets and why there will be a Scarety 2.0.
SaemTV Scarety: expectation vs. reality
I admit it: when I reported on the start of Scarety at the end of October, I would have bet on a nice but modest total. SaemTV felt the same way. Talking to me, she reveals that she expected around 700 euros, maybe 1,000 euros „if it goes really well“.
Before the event, she had honestly told Make-A-Wish that she could not estimate the total at all:
„Since this is my first charity project of this kind, I really can’t estimate how much will be raised in the end. Maybe it will be 50 €, maybe 500 € or even a lot more, I honestly can’t say. My community surprises me again and again.“
SaemTV to Make-A-Wish, before the event
That last sentence turned out to be the understatement of the year. According to Saem, the hoped-for 700 euros were reached after about one hour. In the end, the betterplace donation page shows a proud 8,888.88 euros from 151 donations by 96 donors. The official goal on the page was 4,444 euros, so the event hit 200 percent. According to betterplace, the full amount has already been forwarded to the project.
SaemTV Scarety: the numbers at a glance
- 8,888.88 euros final total on betterplace.org
- 151 donations from 96 donors
- on average about 58.87 euros per donation and about 92.59 euros per person
- 200 percent of the official goal of 4,444 euros
- about 12.7 times the hoped-for 700 euros and almost 9 times the optimistic 1,000 euros
- 545 euros from 15 donations were on the counter on day one, October 25, around 2:34 pm
- 100 percent of the total has already been forwarded to the project, according to betterplace
The jump from day one to the end fascinates me most. On Sunday afternoon, when we wrote our news about the start, it was 545 euros. One week later, the total was more than sixteen times higher. That is not a lucky strike on a single evening, that is a community that kept at it for seven days.
Milestones up to 3,333 euros and the Orrynox blankets
For the stream, Saem had planned milestones, small actions and rewards unlocked at certain donation levels. Officially, the plan went up to 2,222 euros. On top of that came two „gap fillers“ up to 3,333 euros, and they are something special:
- Handmade one-of-a-kind blankets, themed to match her stream
- Orrynox, her very own magic castle that defines her channel
- meant as an incentive, „that shouldn’t be easy either“
The milestones after that were, in her own words, „just there“. She never seriously believed her community would get that far. In the end, the total was more than two and a half times the last blanket milestone. I think that says it all.
Orrynox: a magic castle as the community’s home
What I like about Saem’s channel: it has its own world. Her stream theme is Orrynox, her very own magic castle. That sounds like decoration at first, but it is much more. A fixed theme gives a community a place to meet and a feeling of „us“. You could feel exactly that during Scarety.
The fact that handmade Orrynox blankets were the gap-filler milestones fits perfectly. No mass-produced goods, but one-of-a-kind pieces. For me, it shows how much personal work goes into an event like this long before the first stream starts. According to betterplace, Saem created the fundraiser on September 20, 2026, more than a month before the start.
The SaemTV community behind Scarety
According to the event banner, Scarety ran from October 25 to 31, 2026, live on Twitch every day, fitting the Halloween week under the motto „Scaring together for a good cause“. On her channel, Saem describes herself as a variety streamer who loves story games, chaotic multiplayer, survival and horror. Not a huge event with dozens of guests, but one streamer and her chat.
That is exactly why the number impresses me so much. On the donation page you can see lots of small amounts, greetings from the chat and even a donation from the mods with the message „Love from your mods“. The total does not come from a single big donor, but from a community that spent a week getting scared together and giving together. The money goes to the project „Fulfilling heart’s wishes for seriously ill children in 2026“ by Make-A-Wish Germany. The non-profit organization fulfills the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children and teenagers aged 3 to 18 and is funded entirely by donations.
Why this result is so special
Charity streams are often associated with big names with huge reach, sponsors and celebrity guests. Scarety was the opposite: a streamer’s first charity project of this kind, without any experience to go on, with a community she built herself. Saem honestly told Make-A-Wish beforehand that it might only be 50 euros.
And that is exactly why I find the 8,888.88 euros so impressive. With 96 people donating, every single person made a noticeable contribution. This was not an anonymous crowd leaving some spare change, but a manageable circle of people who really pulled together. For me, it is the best proof that reach is not everything. Closeness and trust count at least as much.
What Make-A-Wish Germany does with the donations
Make-A-Wish Germany is a non-profit company based in Frankfurt am Main and fulfills wishes throughout Germany. According to the organization, a wish fulfillment is not a fleeting gift but a carefully planned „wish journey“, coordinated with family and doctors. It is meant to give hope, strength and a piece of normality.
- children and teenagers aged 3 to 18 with a serious or chronic illness can make a wish
- therapies, therapeutic aids and cash gifts are excluded
- the organization is funded entirely by donations and sponsoring partners
- worldwide, Make-A-Wish exists in almost 50 countries, and more than 43,000 volunteers have already fulfilled over 500,000 wishes
I can’t tell you exactly how many wishes the 8,888.88 euros will fulfill, as that depends on each individual wish. But one thing is clear: the money goes to an organization that lives entirely on donations. Every euro from Saem’s community is a building block for a real heartfelt wish.
Scarety 2.0: it continues
When I chatted with Saem after the event, she was clearly overwhelmed. I don’t want to keep her words from you:
„I can tell you, I didn’t believe any of this, this event exceeds everything I expected, and I’m so happy that we can do so much good. I’m endlessly grateful for everything I get to experience during this time, and I’m glad that Scarety is so well received. Scarety 2.0 is coming next year ❤”
SaemTV in conversation with PlayInsider
So one thing is clear: Scarety was not a one-off experiment. When exactly Scarety 2.0 will take place and what it will look like is not yet known. But I am sure the bar is now a lot higher than 700 euros.
For the next round, I wish for one thing above all: that Saem keeps the fun you could feel from her this week. The number is great, but the best thing about Scarety for me was the atmosphere. And if there are Orrynox blankets again at Scarety 2.0, the milestones should probably be planned a bit more boldly this time.
Conclusion: hoped for 700 euros, raised 8,888.88 euros
For me, SaemTV Scarety is one of the most beautiful stories of this autumn. A streamer honestly expects a few hundred euros, and her community turns it into almost 9,000 euros for seriously ill children. Thank you, Saem, and thank you to everyone who donated.
