Four million copies in just 72 hours: Phantom Blade Zero has pulled off one of the biggest launches of the year. Beijing-based developer S-GAME announced the milestone itself on November 2.
I expected a strong launch, but not this strong. In a post on the game's official X account, the team said Phantom Blade Zero sold more than four million copies in its first 72 hours and thanked the community for its support. For a studio best known for mobile games until now, that's a massive win.
What S-GAME has confirmed
The official statement is short: more than four million copies sold in 72 hours, across all platforms combined. There's no breakdown between PC and PS5 yet, and S-GAME hasn't said how sales split between Steam and the Epic Games Store either.

Phantom Blade Zero launched digitally on October 29, 2026 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5. Players in North America got in on the evening of October 28, while Europe unlocked overnight into October 29. A physical PS5 edition isn't due until 2027, so all four million sales are digital.
Why the launch is so big
Phantom Blade Zero is a wuxia action RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. You play the assassin Soul, who has just 66 days left to live after being betrayed. The star of the show is the fast kung fu combat, with more than 30 weapons and plenty of boss fights. That's exactly what won us over in our Phantom Blade Zero review, where it scored 84.

Things are going well on Steam too. User reviews sit at "Very Positive", and on Monday the game peaked at more than 400,000 concurrent players according to official Steam stats (as of 5:50 PM CET). And that doesn't even count anyone playing on PS5.
What comes next
Four million in three days probably won't be the final word. Launches this big tend to keep selling strongly for weeks, so we wouldn't be surprised to see S-GAME announce another milestone soon. The big open question is whether the studio will ever reveal how sales split between PC and PS5.
