Still playing on last-gen? Time to make a move: Call of Duty: Warzone is shutting down on PS4 and Xbox One. Once Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live, the battle royale will no longer be playable there.
Warzone: PS4 and Xbox One support ends November 6
According to Activision’s official support page, PS4 and Xbox One support ends with Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 on November 6, 2026, at 6 a.m. CET. From then on, Call of Duty: Warzone runs only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Warzone was already pulled from last-gen stores on June 4, and the in-game store there closed on June 25.

What happens to your progress?
Your progress is tied to your Activision account, so you won’t lose it when you upgrade. There’s one catch with COD Points, though: they only carry over within the same console family, so PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. Move from console to PC and your balance stays behind.

New maps in Season 1
Season 1 also adds two new Warzone maps, Hajin and Zodiac. The battle royale is still developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Here’s the official trailer:

Our take on Warzone leaving PS4 and Xbox One
This was always coming. Last-gen hardware has been holding back Warzone’s visuals and tech for a while, and the game runs far better on PS5 and Series X|S. It’s still rough for anyone who hasn’t upgraded yet, especially since Warzone is free to play. Are you still playing Warzone on PS4 or Xbox One?
