Cronos: The New Dawn Gets a Free Photo Mode

Just in time for Halloween, Bloober Team has released a free update for Cronos: The New Dawn. It brings a photo mode and several improvements.

The photo mode in Cronos: The New Dawn

With the new photo mode, you can freeze any moment in the game. You can then take your time staging the character and the environment. Bloober Team wants to give players room to get creative.

Settings available include:

  • Exposure, contrast and bloom
  • Film grain and color fringing
  • Effects and stickers

Other changes in the update

Besides the photo mode, the update includes further fixes and tweaks. Cutscenes can now be skipped, and HDR has been better tuned. According to Bloober Team, both should improve the experience and make the photo mode fully usable.

The update is free on PC and consoles.

Pumpkin head skin, Halloweek and discount

In keeping with the season, you can roam the world with the Pumpkin Head skin. You can activate it in the game menu under “Extras”.

From October 26 to 30, 2026, Bloober Team is also hosting “Halloweek” with streams, surprises and giveaways. On top of that, Cronos: The New Dawn is 50% off over Halloween on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store and the Nintendo eShop. Exact sale periods vary by platform.

For fans, the update is a good excuse to fire up the game again for Halloween or to try it for the first time at 50% off. The gloomy locations in particular offer plenty of striking subjects for your own shots.
