Just in time for Halloween, DarkStone Digital, the studio behind The Mortuary Assistant, has released Playable Archive, a free found-footage horror game for PC.

Free on Steam

Playable Archive launched on Steam on October 26, 2026 without prior announcement and costs nothing. It was developed by Brian Clarke’s one-man studio DarkStone Digital and published by DreadXP.

Background

The game is what remains of a larger, cancelled project – occult rituals, notes and old recordings tell its story.
