Scam With Your Friends had me and my friends crying with laughter over several evenings. The co-op game from JakeHub and Metater has been in Early Access on Steam since October 15, 2026, and the idea is as absurd as it is brilliant: you work in a scam call center and try to con AI callers out of their money with increasingly crazy schemes. It works surprisingly well, but it also has a few rough edges.

Rating and verdict
Scam With Your Friends is one of the funniest co-op games I’ve played this year. The real-time conversations with the AI callers create wonderfully absurd moments, especially with friends.
Technically, you can tell it’s Early Access, it’s much less fun alone, and you should take a close look at privacy. For co-op evenings, it’s still a clear recommendation.

✅ Wonderfully chaotic co-op with friends
✅ Extensive modding support

Scam With Your Friends gameplay: Lie, hack, meet the daily quota
Your workday always starts the same way: the boss sets a quota, and you have to work AI callers on the phone until they hand over their money. The conversations happen in real time, so you actually talk to the characters and have to react spontaneously. Via remote access, you also hack into their computers to get personal data.
With every day you survive, you unlock new scams. At the same time, things get more and more chaotic: scambaiters try to hack you, computer viruses paralyze the office, and police raids are part of it too.

Co-op: Best with friends
Scam With Your Friends thrives on playing together. You can play with friends or in public lobbies, and that’s exactly where the funniest moments happen. When one person improvises on the phone while the others set the office on fire in the background, hardly anyone stays dry-eyed.
There is a single-player mode, but it’s much less entertaining. Alone, you simply miss the chaos that makes this game so special.

Criticism: Privacy and AI costs
There are also critical voices on Steam. Some players express privacy concerns, for example because of voice recordings and background processes. Another player clarifies that the much-discussed browser history only refers to the in-game browser. I still recommend taking a look at the privacy notice before starting.
The developers are also asking for donations to cover the costs of the AI conversations. At a price of just over 10 euros, that’s understandable, but some players find it odd.

Early Access, modding and price
The game is still in Early Access, and you notice that through bugs and smaller technical problems. In return, there’s already extensive modding support: you can even create your own personalities with their own voice using JSON and WAV files.
For around 10 euros, you get a lot of fun for co-op evenings. If you have a group that’s into dark humor, go for it. You’ll find more games on the PlayInsider homepage.
